Terms of Service — Attestlane

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Attestlane (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent you are authorized to bind that organization ("Customer").

2. The Service

Attestlane provides AI-assisted tooling to help organizations prepare for SOC 2 and related compliance activities, including assessments, policy generation, evidence tracking, monitoring, and integrations.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us of any unauthorized use.

4. Plans, trials, and payment

  • Plans and prices are described on the Attestlane pricing page. New accounts may include a 7-day trial.
  • Fees are billed monthly in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law / per Section 12].
  • We may change pricing on 30 days' notice.

5. Acceptable use

You will not: misuse or attempt to breach the Service; upload unlawful content; infringe IP; reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by law; or use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.

6. Customer data and ownership

  • You own your data. You retain all rights to the data you submit ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service.
  • We own the platform. We retain all rights to the Service, software, and underlying technology.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of Customer Data, including any personal data of third parties you enter.
  • Our handling of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the DPA.

7. AI features

The Service uses third-party AI to generate policies, answer questions, and draft questionnaire responses. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation and is not legal, audit, or compliance advice. You must review and validate all AI output before relying on or distributing it. You are solely responsible for materials you submit to third parties (e.g., completed security questionnaires).

8. No audit or certification guarantee

Attestlane is a readiness and workflow tool. We do not perform audits, do not issue SOC 2 reports, and do not guarantee that you will pass any audit or obtain any certification. Audit outcomes depend on your own controls, data accuracy, and an independent auditor's judgment. Any readiness timeline describes a planning target only and is not a guaranteed result.

9. Warranties and disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits/data.
  • Our total aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  • These limits do not apply to a party's indemnity obligations, breach of confidentiality, or willful misconduct.

11. Indemnification

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your Customer Data, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

12. Term and termination

Either party may terminate on 30 days written notice. On termination, your access ends and we will delete or return Customer Data per the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

13. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms; material changes will be notified. Continued use after changes means acceptance.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Sierra Leone, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.
